RERA Complaint — State-wise Portal Links, Fees & Process (Maharashtra, Delhi, Karnataka, UP) 2026
RERA Complaint by State — The Complete 2026 Guide
The Real Estate (Regulation and Development) Act, 2016 established RERA in all states and UTs. While the law is central, each state operates its own RERA portal with slightly different processes and fees. Here's your state-specific guide.
What You Can Claim Under RERA (All States)
- Delayed possession: Interest at SBI MCLR + 2% per month of delay (Section 18)
- Refund with full interest: If you choose to exit due to builder's default
- Structural defects: Rectification within 5 years, free of cost
- False information compensation per Section 12
Before filing on any state RERA portal, send a legal notice to your builder — many builders settle immediately to avoid RERA proceedings.

Start with a Legal Notice to Your Builder
Before spending ₹1,000–₹5,000 on RERA filing fees, send a legal notice to your builder via Lawly (₹199). Many builders resolve delay disputes, offer possession dates, or initiate refund processes immediately after receiving a formal legal notice — saving you months of RERA proceedings.
